Recognizing the historical underrepresentation of artists of color in the commercial sector, The Broadway League’s Labor EDI subcommittee and SDC/ SDCF are committed to working together to develop new models for relationship building between directors & choreographers and commercial producers. Following a successful trial in April 2022, a new program, Creative Connections, will introduce commercial producers to mid-career directors and choreographers of color who have had little or no access to the commercial sector. We look forward to this program joining the many broad range initiatives that are being established across sectors of the field to help transform the eco-system.
